A cognac that I can only describe as liquid magic! The nose is slightly reserved at first but slowly opens up to an intense chocolate and spicy banana bouquet with flowery and earthly undertones. It is quite difficult to pinpoint the palate; a true cornucopia of flavours that blend very smoothly in succesive ways without being outdone by the strong alcohol content - this was a concern for me when I first bought it, I feared the 50% abv would restrain the flavours from presenting themselves. There is no such issue here, everything blends harmoniously to the long (but not endless) aftertaste full of spices and the most balanced rancio I have ever felt. Magic is not cheap, however... In the end though, I must congratulate Cognac Audry for allowing me an experience I've had with very very few cognacs in my life. Worth every penny, if one can afford it
Cognachuset A. Edmond Audry startede tilbage i 1878 af den nuværende ejers Tip Tip Oldefar. Da Aristede Boisson som havde giftet sig med Odette Audry i 1905, gik bort i de tidlige 1950 ere, stoppede Audry Company med at sælge Cognac, men heldigvis havde de gemt noget gammelt Cognac i håbet om at Audry Company ville genopstå på et tidspunkt.
Det skete så heldigvis i 1978 da Bernard Boisson valgte at følge familie traditionerne og genskabe Audry Cognac.
Audry Cognac blev hurtigt tilgængeligt på de fineste restauranter verden over, samt de bedste retail butikker.
Audry Cognac blev lovpriset af konnesører og fik de bedste reviews i Food & Wine magasiner overalt.
Audry Cognac går for at være det bedste Cognac man kan få som ikke er " kendt ".
